NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION

5As is a no-kill shelter dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of all animals in need of a home.

Our mission is to provide shelter and care for the homeless and abandoned animals of the Riverbend area. As a no-kill shelter, we provide a haven for these animals until they are adopted out to qualified homes. We stress the abhorrence of any type of cruelty to animals. We also encourage spaying and neutering of all animals and provide treatment and care to any sick or injured animal through our excellent rapport with local veterinarians, providing humane euthanasia if the animal is terminal. We give advice on the care of pets, always stressing anti-cruelty by participating in community health and safety programs, including speeches to school children, scout troops and employing a staff of caring individuals at the shelter.

The Alton Educational Foundation, AEF, raises funds for innovative projects throughout the Alton School District. These funds are used to provide enhanced educational opportunities, supports academic excellence, and encourage student achievement.

Currently, the Alton Educational Foundation Board of Directors is comprised of eleven local advocates for public education, including business owners, parents, teachers, retired educators, and district representatives. Over the past twenty years, volunteers have launched numerous fundraising efforts, including Redbird Raffles and memorial brick sales, and bench sales.

Alton Main Street’s mission is to engage our community in the continued renewal of our historic downtown district and Mississippi River heritage by cultivating an attractive center of economic and social activity.

Since 1994, Alton Main Street has led volunteer efforts to transform Alton’s Downtown district into a thriving commercial and residential center. Educating citizens about the benefits of historic preservation through public engagement is central to Alton Main Street’s purpose. The organization fosters an appreciation of our community’s history by coordinating social, economic and beautification activities.

We are a recovery community organization that educates, empowers, and provides compassionate recovery support services for those suffering from drug and alcohol addiction and their families to strive toward our communities' overall wellness and stability. Our services include recovery coaching, family recovery coaching, and linkage to clinical services like detox and residential treatment.

We approach each client relationship with the same care and dedication we would give to our own nonprofit. We believe that success lies in the details, and our team is committed to assisting both established nonprofits and startups in streamlining day-to-day operations, ensuring marketing and branding consistency, developing impactful programs, conducting thorough Board of Directors restructuring and analysis, and much more.

Our founder and lead consultant brings to the table an extensive background in the nonprofit sector, spanning nearly a decade. He is not only a seasoned consultant but also a passionate advocate for social causes. As the founder of two successful nonprofits, Amare and Renegade Gardens, and having served on multiple boards in pivotal roles such as president, board member, and vice president, Ty possesses a wealth of hands-on experience in diverse areas.

Beverly Farm Foundation is a loving, caring home for adults with developmental disabilities, providing each individual with physical and emotional security and a dignified quality of life, with opportunities and challenges, within each individual’s functional capabilities.

Beverly Farm is a planned community that nearly 400 individuals with Developmental and Intellectual disabilities call home. There are homes and jobs, a recreation center with a pool, a full dining facility, an equestrian center, shops, a pavilion, all kinds of activities, medical services, therapies, and much more. Cottages, group homes, apartments, and community-based options make up the landscape, people make it home.

Beverly Farm was founded in 1897 by Dr. William H.C. Smith and his wife, Elizabeth. They had been searching for a suitable track of land where they could establish a fundamentally different approach in caring for people who live with developmental disabilities. Dr. and Mrs. Smith found the perfect location in Godfrey, Illinois. Here they would offer a caring home, socialization, proper medical care, healthy diet, physical exercise, education, recreation and meaningful work – a radical concept at the time.

Serving our community since 1980, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois (BBBSIL) is the premier nonprofit mentoring organization in Southwestern Illinois.

  • Driven to make Southwestern Illinois a safe haven where children can grow and thrive, we have developed a network of strategic partnerships with local businesses and community organizations.
  • We know that together we can do big things

We provide diverse activities that meet the interests of all youth. Core programs engage young people in activities with adults, peers, and family members that enable them to develop self-esteem and reach their full potential.

Based on the physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs and interests of girls and boys, and recognizing developmental principles we offer program activities in five areas.

Caritas Family Solutions is a nonprofit social services agency that works to meet the physical, social, and emotional needs of vulnerable people in Southern Illinois, from before birth through the golden years. We believe our community is strengthened when every person in it has a loving home and can create healthy relationships.

What We Do

  • We are a hands-on organization that provides real, in-person care and services to people who need to get out of an unhealthy situation and into a healing environment.
  • We match babies and children to parents wanting to adopt. We provide pregnancy care to women who choose adoption.
  • We care for children the state removes from abusive homes and place them with our personally-selected and vetted foster parents. If a child has experienced too much trauma to be successful in foster care, we care for them personally at St. John Bosco Children’s Center.
  • When families struggle and are on the edge of falling apart, we work to heal them, keeping their children in the home.
  • We help low-income seniors find assisted living where they can enjoy community.
  • We help developmentally disabled adults live with dignity and independence in homes within our communities.

The mission of the Catholic Children's Home is to aid, protect, and care for the needs, education, and welfare of dependent, neglected, abused or otherwise hurting children and families without regard to poverty, riches, race, religion, or national origin. ·

  • More than 100 years of caring.
  • Established in 1879 by the Precious Blood Sisters of Ruma, Illinois.
  • Continuing mission of attending to all needs of children in care away from their home.
  • Dynamic programming, updated to best meet the changing needs of communities and families.
