Lincoln Park Inn • For more than fifty years, singer-songwriter Bobby Bare has been one of Country Music's most respected performers and recording artists.

Bare recorded for Fraternity until Chet Atkins signed him to RCA in early 1962. Bare's moving rendition of "Detroit City" became his first Top Ten Country hit and climbed to #16 on the pop charts in 1963. It also earned him a Grammy for Best Country & Western Recording. Bare followed with a folk-based song he co-wrote, "500 Miles Away From Home," a Top Ten hit on both the Country and Pop charts in 1963-64. Other 1960s hits included "Miller's Cave," "Four Strong Winds," "The Streets of Baltimore" and the sexually frank "(Margie's at) The Lincoln Park Inn." 

Bare switched to Mercury Records, where  he garnered  Top Ten hits including "How I Got To Memphis," "Please Don't Tell Me How The Story Ends," and "Come Sundown." In 1973, he returned to RCA, where he released the self-produced album Ride Me Down Easy that year. In so doing, he set an important precedent for other Nashville-based artists who were seeking greater creative input in producing their own albums. A double album of Shel Silverstein songs, Bobby Bare Sings Lullabys, Legends and Lies, likewise released in 1973, yielded a #2 hit duet with his five-year-old son, Bobby Bare Jr. ("Daddy, What If"), and the older Bare's first #1 song, "Marie Laveau." With his family, Bare released another collection of Silverstein songs, Singin' in the Kitchen, in 1975. Bare later recorded with Columbia, and he recorded for EMI America into the 1980s. In 1998, he joined forces with Waylon Jennings, Mel Tillis, and Jerry Reed on the Atlantic album Old Dogs."

Debra Camp host her annual event where women of all denonmenations and cultures will unite together as one body to worship Jesus Christ.Worship Leaders from various churches will unite on the platform at one time.  Guests speakers, Brooke Ladouceur and Dr. Rene Hornbuckle.
This is a free event.  A love offering will be taken. 

The Parker County Extension Education Association invites everyone to the 17^th Annual “Home for the Holidays”, on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The fun will take place at Couts Memorial United Methodist Church in the gym, located in Weatherford at 802 North Elm Street.

            Home for the Holidays is a wonderful event filled with holiday tips and ideas to help get you into that Holiday Spirit. There will be special presentations and demonstrations by local speakers including: Judy’s Creations by Judy Leonard; Cheap Gift Ideas by Alinda Cox, Jack County Extension Agent; Christmas Cookie Decorating by Margaret Avery; Christmas Bow Making by Antoinette Reed and Not just your Ordinary Gifts in a Jar by Tanya Davis, Wise County Extension Agent.

            Home for the Holidays will include a festive lunch. There will be recipe and idea books for everyone, a raffle table, club gift tables, and a silent auction, door prizes and much more.

            The cost to attend will be $12.00 per person. This will include lunch, program materials and recipes.

            Tickets are available from Extension Education Association Members and the Parker County Extension Office. You may all call to reserve you space. This is the second night of league. 12 Rounds, 5 arrows per round, 60 arrows total. This is an indoor shoot open to everyone with their own equiptment. The league will be every Thursday night in November except Thanksgiving. 

Adults $15 per night

Kids 12 and under $10 per night
