Described as a highly effective, strategic leader, Joseph Weitzer takes pride in his approach, which seeks to understand the strengths and assets of team members, and then supports their development, the alignment of resources, and engagement through empowerment to achieve desired outcomes. As a catalyst for change, he has been instrumental in establishing a culture of continuous improvement in several organizations where he held senior leadership roles. He credits the success of those organizations in consistently exceeding performance targets, with his ability to optimize the strengths of his teams and foster a culture characterized by collaborations focused on achieving high employee and customer satisfaction.
Over the past 10 years, he has personally worked intricately with more than 65 area businesses and organizations providing technical support and leadership focusing on strategic discussions and organizational planning, succession planning, executive/leadership development and coaching, process improvement, and employee engagement and performance. Among his most recent assignments, Joe was recruited to stabilize a business division characterized as one that required a high degree of financial support, had low perceived value within the larger organization, no recognized brand distinction, a small customer base, and high degree of employee turnover. Within three years, he had guided the division in its establishment of a successful brand with regional recognition as a solutions provider. The division had diversified its customer portfolio, improved customer retention, achieved a 97 percent customer satisfaction rating, refined its go-to-market strategy for new product innovations, implemented an internal quality improvement process, and had increased the size of its team by more than 200 percent. Customer-driven change led to a more diverse portfolio of services and an increased value proposition for its clients. Both topline and bottom line metrics continued to exceed targets in each of the five years preceding his departure.
In 2017, Joe became Managing Partner and Senior Strategist for Soulful Leadership Consulting Network, using his skills as a facilitator to support businesses seeking to develop strategic plans with executable deployment strategies. His team of independent consultants is currently working with organizations representing manufacturers, education, health care, and other professional service providers. In addition, he has recently completed several short-term projects including two that focused on disruptions within R&D project teams. Joe continues to facilitate the Leadership Academy, a program he designed and brought to market through two institutions of higher education. In 2024, he launched his 80th formal leadership academy. The leadership series offers a uniquely designed, fully customized program based upon the leadership attributes of the cohort. The series utilizes case studies and builds upon the experiences of participants by providing focused reflection, skill enhancement through experiential learning, and personalized executive coaching.
Joe is an accomplished leader and problem solver. He is formally trained in methods for optimizing human performance, organizational management, and the Kepner-Tregoe Problem Solving and Decision-making methodology. He is a Certified Lean-Six Sigma Black Belt with more than $7.5 million in cost saving project outcomes. He has worked directly with all levels and divisions of an organization from front line operations to marketing, sales, engineering, production scheduling, human resources, and senior leadership. He is adept at identifying business challenges and bringing stakeholders to the table to work toward resolution. In working with clients, he often utilizes his skills of inquiry to help clients uncover and understand root cause challenges to organizational performance. He has developed and successfully tested a proprietary strategic organizational management model that helps define the process that guides and prioritizes performance improvement initiatives. The model is an integrated, systems approach to aligning and integrating strategic initiatives for long-term growth and profitability.
