August 16, 2021 - Interventional cardiology physician Julia Thompson, MD, has joined Merit Health Medical Group in Flowood.

Dr. Thompson focuses on the functions and disorders of the heart and circulatory system. She provides routine and preventive cardiac services, as well as helping to manage chronic conditions.

Dr. Thompson received her medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. She also completed her residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. After completing two fellowships at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, one for cardiovascular diseases and one for interventional cardiology, Dr. Thompson was named chief fellow in 2021 for her accomplishments. Dr. Thompson is board certified in cardiovascular diseases and internal medicine.
