Sunita Doddamani is an Assistant United States Attorney in the Civil Rights Division of the Eastern District of Michigan.
She will cover federal law related to hate crimes and civil enforcement actions when citizens are discriminated against because of their race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, or disability.
Previously, she served as the Head of the Hate Crimes & Domestic Terrorism Unit at the Michigan Department of Attorney General where she handled cases involving threats to public officials and bias-motivated crimes. Notably, she led the prosecution team against the Wolverine Watchmen, a gang who supported the plot to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Prior to serving in that role, Sunita served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Wayne and Macomb Counties.
