The Townsend Hotel’s Rugby Grille Restaurant receives another top national honor!
BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (July 11, 2022) - The Rugby Grille Restaurant in The Townsend Hotel has again received a Best of Award of Excellence - Two-Glass Rating with Wine Spectator Magazine. This is the seventh consecutive year receiving this prestigious award.

Wine Spectator's Restaurant Awards recognize restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers. To qualify for this award, a restaurant wine list must present complete, accurate information, including vintages and appellations for all selections.
The Rugby Grille has achieved this award every year since 2016 and it has 425 selections and over 350 or more selections of bottles of wine in their inventory. “We are serious about our inventories for our guests and are committed into maintaining a world-class wine list! Only 1,290 restaurants around the world earned the Best of Award of Excellence honors for their ambitious wine programs, bolstering their lists and cellars. This award’s program lists hails from more than 70 countries and all 50 states.
Wine Spectator’s 2022 Best of Award of Excellence award-winners will be featured in the August Wine Spectator issue, which hit the newsstands on July 4, 2022.
