Cranbrook Educational Community Appoints New Trustee

Sandra Smith holds a BA cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, with a double major in English and Education from Denison University, as well as a Master of Arts (English Language & Literature) from the University of Michigan. She taught AP English and worked as a College Admissions counsellor at independent schools. Her experience also includes work in direct marketing and management consulting. As a community volunteer, she was active in the Junior Leagues of New York and Boston, and the Leelanau Conservancy, Michigan.
Smith has served as a member of the Cranbrook Schools Board of Governors since 2006 and has volunteered in a number of capacities since then. She currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees Collections Committee, Chair of the Subcommittee for the Cranbrook Center for Collections and Research, and is a member of the Board of Trustees Finance Committee. In addition, she is Chair of the Schools Development Committee and member of the Schools Committee on Governors.
Her husband, Bob Wilson, is Vice Chair of the Cranbrook Art Academy Board of Governors and graduated from Cranbrook in 1976. Sandy and Bob are parents of Andrew Wilson (Cranbrook class of 2012) and Michael Wilson (Cranbrook class of 2016).
