Help us deliver meals
while you drive by renewing or purchasing our license plate for your
vehicle!
LaPorte County Meals on
Wheels along with the WHOLE state of Indiana Meals on
Wheels programs are excited to be one of five new specialty group recognition
license plates approved by the Interim Study Committee on Roads and
Transportation.
These plates are going
to help provide meals to individuals across the state who are homebound,
elderly or disabled. This opportunity will also allow us to build and grow the
awareness of our programs across our great state.
For over 50 years Meals
on Wheels programs have been delivering meals to the doors of community members
who are homebound, elderly or disabled. In 2024 programs across Indiana
delivered to over 20,767 individuals and provided over 2,146,950 meals. We
are so much more than a meal, we provide a lifeline, a helping hand, access to
resources, and most of all a wellness check. This wouldn’t be possible without
our volunteers, staff, and community support.
LaPorte County Meals on
Wheels was able to demonstrate statewide impact for Hoosiers and secure more
than 500 petition signatures as part of the extensive application process to be
advanced as a specialty license plate. A $25 donation for each registration
along with the new license plate option will be used to help support programs
across our state.
Help us share what our
program means to you as a volunteer, as a client, as a friend, and as a family
member. #indianatogetherwedeliver
