The Dover/Kent County MPO announced today that the MPO Council has
re-elected Robin Christiansen, Mayor of Dover, as the Council Chairman and John
Sisson, CEO of DTC/DART, as Vice Chair of the Council.
Mayor Christiansen and Mr. Sisson join Kimberly Chesser from the Office of
Highway Safety, The Honorable Joanne Masten from Kent County Levy Court, Mayor
Ernst Arndt from the Town of Viola, and Pamela Steinbach, Director of Planning
for DelDOT, as the policy-making board for the MPO.
The Council also includes Doug Atkin, Division Administrator for the Federal
Highway Administration and Theresa Garcia Crews, the Regional Administrator for
the Federal Transit Administration, Region 3, as non-voting members.
The Council is supported by two Advisory Committees, the Technical Advisory
Committee and the Public Advisory Committee. A complete list of members of

In continuing the role as MPO Council Chair, Mayor Christiansen noted the
important transportation planning work being done by the MPO staff. He
highlighted the significance of recently completed projects including Dover Air
Cargo Freight Access Study, City of Harrington Multimodal Freight Terminal
Study, Bowers Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements, Kent County Rail Corridor
Land Use Study, East-West Freight Route Feasibility Analysis Phase 1, and Dover
Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan.
