The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Dover Mall’s new play area on Saturday, October 19th, at 11 am. The ceremony was held at 1365 N. DuPont Highway, at the mall in Dover, near Dick’s Sporting Goods. Chamber staff, members, and ambassadors joined the team at the Dover Mall in celebrating the grand opening of their new play area.
Dover Mall and Commons is located in the heart of Delaware’s capital city, Dover, and is managed by Simon Property Group, Inc., a
global leader in the ownership of premier shopping, dining, entertainment and
mixed-use destinations. Dover Mall is a single-level super-regional shopping center anchored by Macy’s, JCPenney, Boscov’s and Dick’s Sporting Goods and features tax-free shopping, AMC Theatre and a food court.
In an effort to make the mall a destination for the whole family, and to offer activities and services that encourage families to spend time at the 928,000+ square foot facility, mall officials hope the new play area will provide an additional spot for children’s entertainment and for others who wish to take a break from shopping. Since its inception in 1982, the mall has constantly added stores, a food court, and other amenities for family-fun entertainment. The mall boasts a 14 screen AMC Theater and 79 stores and services.
In addition to offering a premiere family destination for the residents of Central Delaware, the Dover Mall is serious about its support to the community. The mall has been especially supportive of our region’s military community. They regularly partner on military events and activities, often serving as the host. Many of the stores in the mall also offer military discounts.
