The Lead Radio Systems Tech: assists with the management of the Radio Division (RD) as directed and, in the absence of the Radio Systems Manager, assumes full responsibility for the operations of the RD; reports to the Radio Systems Manager; performs duties as senior technician in support of the day-to-day operations of the County's P25 land mobile radio (LMR) trunk radio system; assists in trouble shooting diagnosing, and repairing of the County Radio System, radio paging system, console, & related equipment.
Requirements

Ongoing knowledge of radio communications technology; Skilled in unique combinations of multi-site RF communications systems and computer networking; Must be able act as a representative of Wicomico County to vendors and the public; Demonstrated proficiency with FCC requirements; Ability to use various electronic communications test equipment including communications systems analyzers, IT test sets, signal analyzers, network analyzers & RSS software; Ability to read and understand schematic, block, and logic diagrams & flow charts; Working Knowledge of MS Office Suite, relevant software, & accounting programs; and Effective communication skills.

Special Requirements

Two (2) years of college or technical certification required; Bachelor of Science with undergraduate work in communications or electronics; P-25 system maintenance & system administrator training/certification; Five (5) years of experience with/in RF communications, P-25 radio operations & VOIP fiber distribution equipment; Understanding of electronic theory; Understanding of RF propagation theory; Trade school diploma; NABER, PCIA, or FCC certifications; Ability to pass oral interview, practical exams, background investigation, and drug screening; and Valid Driver's License
