Hello!
My name is Carolyn Dick and I’m the baker behind Carolyn’s Confections! My baking journey all started when my grandpa introduced me to bread baking in my early teens. I then chose to take my curiosity to the culinary classes provided at Ramona High School. Baking and cooking have always sparked my creative side, which is why I chose to pursue culinary school after high school. I graduated from Grossmont College in 2019 and immediately started working in the culinary world.
My first opportunity was at the Sycuan Casino and then the second was at the Barona Casino. I was blessed to work in both of their bakery departments. During both experiences, I learned so much about the culinary world, but also about how I wanted my future path in baking to look. In 2021, I left Barona to take on a career outside of the culinary world to be able to do more of the baking I was passionate about. During this transition, I was able to establish my business, Carolyn’s Confections. I found myself baking more on my days off and truly enjoying creating delicious treats that I was excited to design and then create. I have found joy in making custom cakes, sugar cookies, cake pucks, cupcakes and so much more! As someone who was raised in Ramona, I am proud to be able to establish and grow my business in a town I grew up in and continue to value.
