We stand as a local partner, dedicated to bringing personalized visions to life.

Expanding Possibilities and Building Connections

We embrace innovation by collaborating with other local businesses in the area. This is about being more than just a business, it's about creating connections within the community and building a network that fosters growth and unity. We prioritize partnering with local small businesses, aligning with our culture of “Support Local - Shop Small”.

This spirit allows us to extend our services and offerings beyond the traditional scope, ensuring that we remain at the industry’s cutting edge. Our eagerness to expand our network enhances not only our company but also positively impacts our local community. Our membership in local associations underscores this commitment, assuring our clientele of our dedication to quality, collaboration, and local growth.

As an Edward Jones financial advisor, I believe it's important to invest my time to understand what's important to you. After gaining a thorough understanding of each client's investment objectives, background and family situation, I build a customized strategy to help my clients meet their financial goals.

I began my financial career in 2004 with Edward Jones. While working for the firm, I earned my master's degree in accounting from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. This has served me well as a financial advisor, helping individuals and families in Wood River and surrounding area grow and protect their hard-earned wealth.

I am a proud member of the Wood River community where I serve on our local Rotary Club and as a board member of Operation Blessing. Our branch team also supports the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's, a cause that is close to our hearts. Outside of the office, I am a big fan of our local professional baseball team. Go Cardinals!

My Branch Office Administrator, Amy Martin, and I work as a team to give you the personal service you deserve when it comes to planning for your financial future. Working together, we have built meaningful relationships with community members, while helping them stay on track toward their goals.

If you value a personal relationship and professional guidance, it would be my pleasure to meet with you and help you create a financial strategy that you can not only understand, but also get excited about.

Bob Stocker, a firefighter from Wood River, Illinois, founded Fire Safety, Inc. in 1968 after noticing that local businesses needed fire extinguishers. With support from his wife Mary, a few hundred dollars, and a 1954 Ford pick-up, Bob started the business in his basement.

We moved out of Bob’s basement a long time ago and that old Ford has been replaced by 20+ service vehicles which cover a large portion of Illinois and Missouri.

Fire Safety, Inc. remains a family-owned business; operated by Donna Karpan, Bob and Mary’s niece. Fire Safety’s employees are some of the best in the industry with many employees exceeding 30+ years of service. The company remains dedicated to the core values of integrity, quality, expertise, and service established by Bob. Fire Safety offers comprehensive fire protection services for residential, commercial, and industrial needs.

If you’re looking for a mortgage banker with years of experience and expertise in both the big picture and minutiae of home loans, you’ve found it all in Deb. Being in the industry since 1979, she’s specialized in about every phase of the home loan process, so her education isn’t one-dimensional. Because of this, she puts emphasis on passing knowledge to her clients about what’s going to happen at each step and prepare them for what’s coming in the next 30 or so years with their home loan. She understands that her clients often need flexibility with their loan terms, so her favorite program is the FHA loan program, which works with differing credit scores and less stringent terms.

We grow and bake pretty things! Bakery and farm fresh flowers. Looking to brighten up someone’s day? Give them a beautiful bouquet or a box of French Macarons!!

Seeing the potential for putting international retail bridal and formal wear just a click away before it became de rigeuer John Frew founded BestBridalPrices.com in conjunction with the brick-and-mortar Frew's Bridal, bringing chic and affordable designer bridal and formal fashion to the masses. Building relationships with top bridal and formal wear designers from the ground up, John established the online bridal empire that is BestBridalPrices through sheer hard work and determination, the proverbial blood, sweat, and tears.

Committed to both his world-wide customer base and his own community, John worked tirelessly to transform two abandoned historic structures into a bridal and prom/pageant showplace, which houses 30,000 square feet of bridal and prom fabulousness as well as serves as the home base for the thriving internet venture.

Owned by Melissa Bland, who became an Alton transplant in 2018, Honeybee Vintage offers vintage, antiques, home décor, gifts and upscale resale. “We are a collective of antique lovers in one unique space, with new arrivals every week,” Bland explained.

Customer favorites include painted furniture, quilts, fruit jars, art pottery, vintage clothing, jewelry, art, embroidered linens, architectural pieces, and garden decor.

“We love the cottage look, with an affinity for English and French antiques, but love to mix in pieces that speak to the heart of the Midwest, mid-century modern pieces, and upcycled treasures. We also offer a line of furniture paint, and tons of creative inspiration for your home. Also, you don't want to miss our ‘bee-tique’ of new and upscale resale clothing for children,” Bland added.

The Air Force brought the Bland family to the area, but Bland and her family have decided to stay, due to the “unique charm and historic character of Alton,” as Bland noted. “We fell in love with our house first, but quickly returned the embrace of our Middletown neighborhood and have enjoyed putting down roots in Alton after almost 30 years of military life.”
