DETROIT (May 16, 2023) – This Sunday, May 21, thousands of stair climbers will converge at Comerica Park for the American Lung Association in Michigan’s annual Fight For Air Climb. The event continues to be the 2nd largest Climb in the country raising hundreds of thousands of dollars to help end lung disease through research, education and advocacy.
WHEN: Sunday, May 21, 2022, at 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. **Gates open to climbers at 8:00 a.m. but media can enter the gates at 6:30 a.m.
WHAT: Thousands
of Michiganders residents will take the stairs at Comerica Park. Participants
will have several options to choose from.
- 8:30 a.m. - 9 a.m.: Ultimate Climb Power Hour
- 9 a.m.:
Firefighter and First Responder Ceremony
- 9:20 a.m.:
First Responders Climb
- 9:45 a.m. - 12 p.m.: Firefighter Challenge
- 11:45 a.m.:
Climber Ceremony
- 12 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.: Elite Climbers & Climbers
- 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: PAWS will make a surprise appearance for attendees.
Spectators and Climbers will be
gathering on the Comerica Landing (formerly the Pepsi Porch) before and after
races. Here they will have a perfect view of the different event, will be able
to partake in light concessions, grab a keepsake photo at the photobooth and
more!
WHY: Almost 1.5 million Michigan resident suffer from lung disease. Funds raised at the Fight For Air Climb will support the Lung Association’s efforts to support those suffering and end lung disease.
