Zorn Brew Works is hitting the right notes this summer with its Backyard Concert Series featuring tribute bands for The Cure and Jimmy Buffett.

The Summer of Love Song Tour stops in the city Friday July 26. The Cure tribute band will roll out the haunting melodies of the popular ’80s band known for such classic songs as “Pictures of You,” “Close to Me,” “Lovesong” and “Boys Don’t Cry.”

The show is from 7:30 to 10:30 pm at The Backyard at Zorn Brew Works, 605 E. 9^th St. Doors open two hours before showtime and the event venue features full bar, food and craft beer selections. Tickets range from $10 to $20 and are available online at: https://ow.ly/1wLW50SGhp3.

Island vibes land at Zorn with Gone 2 Paradise, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, from 7:30 to 10:30 pm Friday Aug. 16 at Zorn. Chicago-based Gone 2 Paradise churns out all of the Buffett favorites, including “Margaritaville” and “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” to get  Parrotheads moving and grooving.

Zorn Brew Works has been brewing up craft beer since 2017 in a spot that was renovated and reborn after sitting idle for 79 years. Launched by Philip Zorn Jr. in 1871, the original brewery churned out 15,000 barrels of beer a year from a local spring and a prohibition-era soft drink, Zoro, until closing in 1938.

Today, new brews flow in the taproom that is in the former carriage house along with nosh options such as sandwiches, pizza, appetizers and more. Additional space on the Zorn campus is available for special events and catering and weekly free live music is in The Backyard at Zorn. History shines through with original building pieces remaining in place, including brickwork, beams and floors.
