Founded in 1945, the Connecticut-based company also has plant/satellite locations in California and Georgia. Dalton is a manufacturer of pavement repair and sealant products that are distributed to contractors and retail stores across the country, including Home Depot and ACE Hardware. “Our team of fabricators is working with local plumbers, electricians and contractors to construct the equipment needed to be fully operational later this year at our new facility in Michigan City,” said Dalton Enterprises President John Dalton. “We are thrilled to open in Michigan City and expect to employ 25 to 35 workers on a seasonal basis. “We appreciate the warm welcome from the Hoosier state and the Michigan City community as we relocate to accommodate our expanded needs.” Economic Development Corporation Michigan City Executive Director Clarence Hulse said that Dalton is a long-standing family-owned company that supports American-made products. “Dalton is a strong addition to our base of manufacturing businesses here in Michigan City,” Hulse said. “Our city continues to prove it has the infrastructure, logistics and work force essential to attract and retain an array of companies and industries.” “Exciting times when you have a family-owned business relocate to the city. Michigan City will continue to work with our career tech center and our education system along with our EDC to make sure we build the capacity for manufacturers to move into Michigan City,” added Michigan City Mayor Angie Nelson Deuitch. “Our new internship program and our commitment to workforce development with our new department will be critical to recruiting companies to move into the city. Our goal is to create that pipeline for companies to not only relocate here, but for their employees to want to live, work and play here.” ReferenceClarence L.
