On May 25, 2022 – Opportunity Enterprises (OE) broke ground on a $6.7 million capital campaign project to build a new Lakeside Respite Center on Lake Eliza bordering Lake and Porter Counties. As construction begins, six generous corporations/individuals stepped forward to give clients of OE an exclusive experience of a lifetime to be part of the construction process of the new Center as an Excavator for A Day. Clients will have the opportunity to safely operate or start the process of excavating the site where the new Respite Center will stand for Northwest Indiana residents and beyond. Sponsors of Excavator for A Day, such as NIPSCO, will be present for this history-making event and cheering on their sponsored client as construction for the Center get underway. Local media is invited to attend and learn more about OE’s Lakeside Respite Capital Campaign, and meet the generous sponsors who are providing OE clients an experience of a lifetime.
