Leadership La Porte County is hosting a “Volunteer Expo” on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at the   La Porte County Fairgrounds Community Building from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Nonprofit organizations seeking volunteers are encouraged to reserve booth space now. Early bird booth reservations are $25, if reserved before March 15^th.  After March 15^th the cost for a booth will be $30. All booth reservations must be received no later than April 15^th

Booth reservations are available to any non-profit organization.  Examples of non-profit needs for volunteers may include board positions, committee members, event helpers or general volunteers. The goal of the Volunteer Connections Expo is to raise awareness of organizations in the community who are providing services and to connect youth and adults in the La Porte County community to those organizations in need of assistance.

Non-profit organizations are encouraged to contact Leadership La Porte County to request an application for exhibit space. It is suggested that organizations have specific information about their volunteer opportunities, including any age restrictions, requirements, and a description of tasks.

The public is invited to attend this event to learn more about volunteer opportunities available to them.  Admission to the public is free.

Leadership La Porte County Executive Director, Monica Komasinski, stated, “Volunteerism is so important now, more than ever. Since the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic, volunteerism has declined but community needs have not.  We owe it to our communities to get involved and to help those in need.”
