Horizon Bank is pleased to announce the recent grant awarded to The Salvation Army of Michigan City.
The
Salvation Army of Michigan City is dedicated to alleviating the symptoms of
poverty in their community, and works to address the root issues that cause it.
The funds will be used towards program support, including family and youth
programs, emergency services, and basic needs throughout the year. Since the
start of the pandemic, needs for support are greater than ever. There has been
an extreme fluctuation in services provided from month to month, and is on the
rise again. Due to the pandemic and inflation, those in the community suffering
from poverty has only worsened.
The Salvation Army of Michigan City offers several programs including Pathway to Hope, Diaper Bank, Food Pantry, and Weekend Backpack Feeding Program. “It is a privilege to support an organization that is dedicated to making a difference for those who reside in the Michigan City area. Countless members of the community benefit from their outstanding resources,” said Steve Kring, Horizon Bank’s Regional President of Northwest Indiana.
