WELCOME TO THE MAGIC OF STORYTELLING & LIVE
THEATER........
And God Bless Us Everyone!
Historian John Jakes’ latest rendition of the Charles Dickens
classic, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, will be on stage at the ALT Showplace December 13th
through 22nd by Kevin Frakes as his last directorial production! Frakes has worked
and performed at ALT for 54 years and chose a very special show to share with
all the audiences, new and returning, who have supported his career as a singer
and loved his productions (and told him so) at ALT.
Frakes has cast 28 wonderful performers in A CHRISTMAS
CAROL, including Cameron Ulrich as Charles Dickens, who acts as the Narrator,
of a tale that is meant to be shared by multi-generations and families
everywhere!
The cast consists of ALT favorites like Hal Morgan as
Ebenezer Scrooge and Alex Trepka as Bob Cratchit. Knox Schell who made his
debut in this past summer's OLIVER will portray Tiny Tim - and Knox has a
number of former castmates who play multiple roles in the children of the town
and his siblings. ALT frequent performers, Becca Peach, Sawyer Burton, Melissa
Mulrean and Jim Lieber take on the enriched "ghosts" with their life
lessons. TEN new actors make their debut at ALT in this scrumptious tale of
finding the true meaning of sharing Christmas Charity with all those around
you.
As of November 12th - 150 seats are left (only on Saturday,
December 14, and Friday, December 20 -- both at 7:30 pm); AND Saturday,
December 21 and Sunday, December 22 with matinees at 2pm.
A CHRISTMAS CAROL is a show that is made for families to celebrate
together and perhaps even discuss their own experiences with lean years and
encountering people who seemed to have no charity in their hearts. Yes, there
is a bit of Charles Dickens’ childhood in his most popular novel, which has now
been translated into so many languages and performed so often around the world.
Call 618-462-3205 (box office) TODAY or go online 24 hours a
day (altonlittletheater.org). Tickets are $22 for adults and $18 for youth.
Audiences will enjoy the decorated Dorothy Colonius Foyer, perhaps some punch
and cookies, and celebrating a CLASSIC together.
And you can say "Goodbye" to Kevin Frakes, Artistic
Director at ALT, and say "Hello" to Eric Sykes and Lee Cox and a
wealth of NEW Talents at the Showplace, celebrating its 91st season of continuous
entertainment.
