At First Federal, your security is always our top priority. Scammers are constantly developing new tactics to obtain personal and financial information, and we'd like to remind you of a few tips to help keep your accounts safe and secure.

What to Know:

Fraudsters may contact you by phone, text, or email, posing as First Federal team members. They often ask for sensitive information, such as debit card number, Social Security numbers, PINs, or online banking credentials. Remember, First Federal will never ask you for this information.

How to Protect Yourself:

  1. Verify Before You Share  If you receive a suspicious message or call claiming to be from First Federal, hang up and contact us directly.
  2. Never Share Your Debit Card Number, PIN, Social Security Number, or Online Banking Credentials  Legitimate organizations, including First Federal, will never request this information.
  3. Be Cautious with Caller ID   Scammers can spoof phone numbers to make it appear they’re calling from a legitimate source.

Monitor Your Accounts Regularly

Sign up for Mobile Fraud Alerts through online banking to receive real-time notifications of account activity. Additionally, we encourage you to consider utilizing the Card Controls feature available through our mobile banking app. This tool empowers you to manage your cards by setting spending limits, restricting specific merchant categories and geographic locations, and enabling you to turn your card on or off as needed.
