Director Christopher Wray named Cheyvoryea "Shea" Gibson as the Special Agent in Charge of the Detroit Field Office in August 2023. Mr. Gibson recently served as a Section Chief in the Criminal Investigative Division at FBI Headquarters.
Mr. Gibson began his career as a Special Agent in March 2003. After completing New Agents Training, he was assigned to the Washington Field Office, Safe Streets Gang Task Force. He led various criminal enterprise investigations which culminated in the disruption and dismantlement of violent gangs in the Washington, D.C. area.
Prior to joining the FBI, Mr. Gibson served as a Deputy Sheriff and Detective with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Tampa, Florida, for seven years. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University and a Master's degree from Boston University.
