Originally from the Oregon Coast, we (Micole and Teri) moved to Ramona in 2004.  With Teri’s naval service and career in business development, working for a Fortune 50 company, coupled with Micole’s welding, fabrication, and entrepreneurial experience, the emerging wine industry was the perfect fit for us.   We started making wine in 2005, and in 2006 planted our first vineyard, Ramona Ranch Winery has focused on sustainability since it’s inception in 2004.  We are San Diego County's only Certified Sustainable Vineyard and Winery, a distinction we obtained in 2017 from the California Wine Institute.

We specialize in vineyard specific, single varietal wines, like our Estate Tannat and Sangiovese, winning Gold and Double-Gold medals at prestigious Wine Competitions, including the Sunset International Wine Competition and the Sonoma Grand Harvest.

As a resident of Ramona for 19 years it has been our honor not just to live here but to be actively involved in the community both personally and professionally as the co-founders of Ramona Ranch Winery, former Ramona Valley Vineyard Association (RVVA) President, and former Ramona Trails Association board member.    Micole currently serves as a Ramona Community Foundation Board member, and Teri is the Secretary of the Women’s Wine Alliance, and current RVVA board member.

“I enjoy learning about and helping the community members supported by the foundation, as well as seeing the difference our funding awards make.”  Micole Moore, Co-Founder & Winemaker, Ramona Ranch Vineyard & Winery

Our winery, Ramona Ranch has focused on sustainability and community involvement since and is San Diego County's only Certified Sustainable Vineyard and Winery.    We offer educational classes throughout the year, from composting, to raising backyard chickens and wildlife classes, as well as wine education and opportunities to be a part of the winemaking process.

Believing we are here for the long term, we rely on eco-diversity, rather than herbicides and pesticides to create a healthy environment for our farm, wine and guests.   We’ve planted an insectary, which invites beneficial bugs and birds to improve the bio-diversity of the farm and are recognized by the National Wildlife Federation as a Certified Wildlife Habitat.   Working to continually improve our sustainability, we use native cover crops, have owl boxes, and are in the process of installing a Native Plant walking path believing that allowing nature to thrive will create the balance we seek in both our wines, as well as our lives.

With a natural riparian area, the quail covey’s are thriving in the vineyards, along with a family of California Greater Roadrunners, woodpeckers, swallows, hawks, and you may glimpse the occasional golden eagle or snowy egret flying by as you enjoy the mountain views.

Open Thursday – Monday, we invite you to come by.
