Established in 1920, Roosevelt Park Zoo has since been a popular family destination in Minot. Roosevelt Park Zoo has had a number of changes over the years. We are always striving to better our zoo and the zoo visit experience for out patrons. Children and adults are encouraged to visit our beautiful zoo which is sure to foster many lasting memories. We offer a wide variety of animals. With over 200 species, you are sure to get a close view of your favorite animals. We have many exotic species such as lions, tigers, warthogs, and penguins. We also offer a large North American exhibit including grey wolves, musk ox and playful river otters. Many of our animals are endangered or threatened species. As an AZA (Association of Zoos and Aquariums) accredited zoo, we are involved in a number of Species Survival Breeding Programs (SSP). These programs are designed to protect and breed many endangered species ensuring their survival so that people of generations will have the opportunity to see and appreciate these wonderful animals. Roosevelt Park Zoo is also involved in a number of educational programs such as Zoo Camp and Zoo Tots Early Childhood Education program.. We host many special events throughout the year including Bacon and Brew at the Zoo, Boo at the Zoo, Easter Egg Hunt, conservation days and more. We are grateful for our volunteers and are growing our volunteer program opportunities for those who want to support the zoo with their time and talent.
