The Hawaiian themed event will be held Thursday, May 18 from 5:30 PM – 8 PM at the Troy Historic Village, 60 W. Wattles Rd.
In collaboration with local restaurants/businesses, Manny’s Liquor, and Troy Historic Village, the Kiwanis Club of Troy presents a winetasting and hor d’oeuvres fundraiser event dedicated to helping young people struggling in the community.
Proceeds raised will be utilized to support
mental health and suicide prevention in the Troy and Clawson youth community. According
to CDC and MDHHS, suicide is the second highest cause of death for people 10-24
years old.
Two other charities supported in this fundraiser
are HAVEN of Pontiac (children affected by sexual assault and domestic abuse in
their homes), and the Jenna Kast Believe in Miracles Foundation (supports
children undergoing cancer treatments).
The event will feature live music by Hot Ugly,
50/50 raffle, auction baskets, and cornhole competition (BRING CASH +/or
CHECK). Manny’s Liquor will be providing various wines and local restaurants will be donating assorted hor d’oeuvres. Troy businesses participating with food donations include (but not limited): McVee’s Pub and Grub, Sedona Taphouse, Fogo de Chao, Picano’s, Mission BBQ, Troy Fresh Thyme, and Troy Nino Salvaggio.
