El Camino College Launches 2025 Intern Connection Program to Bridge Students with Career Opportunities
El Camino College is proud to announce the launch of its 2025 Intern Connection Program, designed to connect students with valuable internship opportunities that will enhance their career prospects. This initiative aims to provide hands-on experience, professional networking, and industry exposure to help students successfully transition from academia to the workforce.
The Intern Connection Program will serve as a bridge between students and leading employers in various industries, including business, accounting, technology, human resources, and the arts. Through strategic partnerships with local businesses, corporations, and nonprofit organizations, the program will offer internships that align with students' career aspirations and academic goals.
Interns will work 20 hours per week over an 8-week summer period. There is no cost for employers to participate. Intern wages are funded by the South Bay Workforce Investment Board.
“El Camino College is committed to preparing our students for the evolving job market,” said Dr. Carla Camacho, Career Services Specialist at El Camino College. “The Intern Connection Program is a crucial step in providing our students with the real-world experience they need to compete in today’s workforce.”
The program offers:
Personalized Internship Matching: Students will be paired with internships that suit their skills, interests, and career goals.
Professional Development Workshops: Resume-building, interview preparation, and networking strategies to help students excel.
Employer Collaboration: A strong network of businesses and organizations eager to mentor and train the next generation of professionals.
Academic Integration: Opportunities to earn academic credit while gaining real-world experience.
Employers participating in the program will benefit from a pool of talented, motivated students eager to contribute to their industries. Businesses interested in partnering with the Intern Connection Program are encouraged to contact El Camino College’s Career Center for more information.
Students looking to participate can apply through the El Camino College Career Center website or attend an upcoming information session. The program is open to all currently enrolled students and recent graduates seeking career-related experience.
