Position Summary:   Provide research-based instruction to assist student demonstration of success.

Essential Functions and Duties:  Obtain and maintain MO DESE AEL teacher certification. Obtain a minimum of 20 professional development hours each year. Complete a two-year mentoring program. Attend all local and state required workshops/training. Provide evidence-based instruction that includes, but limited to, individual, group, on-line, and peer tutoring. Provide student academic counseling. Assist students with goal setting. Collaborate with state and local entities to achieve student success. Recruit students and volunteers. Establish local community partnerships to assist with student support. Submit accurate monthly reports in a timely manner. May be required to serve on local/state Board/Committee.

  • Experience—teaching experience preferred
  • Education—Bachelor Degree from accredited four-year institution
  • Needed Skills—excellent communication skills, good computer/technology skills, organized, multi-tasker, accepting of diversity, ability to maintain student private records, and a life-long learner. Must be able to obtain FBI Fingerprint/Background clearance, LACES, TABE, TABE Class E, and other required certification.
 
Requirements

Physical Requirements:   Work involves sedentary to light work in office setting and able to lift up to 30 pounds. Employee accommodations for disabilities will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Standard Work Schedule:   Minimum of 9 hours per week maximum of 17 hours per week, Monday through Friday. May include evening hours. Workshop/training may include weekends.
 
Travel Requirements:   Workshop/training may require travel, which may include overnight travel.
 
Salary Range: $19.00 Per Hour
