We invite senior adults from Boone County & surrounding comunities to a FREE fair dedicated to providing valuable information about boomer & older adults issues, services, & activities.

Rural communities face unique transportation challenges that can significantly impact access to essential services, economic opportunities, and overall quality of life. 

This Beyond the Bus will explore strategies to address these challenges and improve rural mobility. This conference will bring together rural development experts, transportation planners, community leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to share knowledge and experiences, explore innovative solutions, and collaborate on building more accessible, sustainable, and resilient transportation systems in rural areas. 

By focusing on rural mobility, the event aims to empower rural communities to overcome challenges and improve the quality of life for all.

Registration is between 7 am & 8 am.

The annual Boone County Democrats Brown-Woodard celebration and meal will be held at the LEONARD GOOD COMMUNITY CENTER  in Ogden Iowa. (114 SW 8th) on October 17

Rita Hart, Chairwoman of the Iowa Democrat Party will be the keynote speaker. Other speaking guests will include Iowa Congressional Candidate Ryan Melton, Senate 24 Candidate Margaret Liston, and House 48 Candidate Penny Vossler. Boone County Board of Supervisor Democratic candidate Brian Reimers will also speak. 

The meal will be a fall harvest meal of locally produced products.

A silent auction will be conducted virtually as well as being available for in-person bidding. 

The Brown-Woodard Award will be presented to the outstanding Boone County Democrat leader for the year 2024.
