Formally known as The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Plymouth, the Christian Science Church holds in person services at this location on Sundays at 10 am and online via Zoom on Wednesdays at 7 pm. Sunday School is held at 10 am on Sundays.
Every Christian Science Church operates a Christian Science Reading Room. It is open to the public as are our services. We are open currently Mondays through Fridays from 10 am to 3 pm and for about half an hour before and after the Sunday service. At the Reading Room you can buy Bibles (many different translations and some other languages), Bible reference books, and Mary Baker Eddy's writings including her major work, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Mary Baker Eddy discovered Christian Science in 1866 and founded the first church in 1879. Other Church periodicals are available to read or buy including The Christian Science Monitor.. You can also find children's books, biographies, and other literature. The space can be a quiet place to seek inspiration and there is always someone on hand to help visitors with finding a way forward spiritually. There is free Wifi and two public laptops available for visitor use. We often help the homeless or those without electronic resources by providing a daily contact with email or by helping them apply for jobs or housing.
