Fun With Bots Day Camp

It's never too early to learn to code! This interactive program is designed to engage K-3rd grade youth in hands-on robotics and coding oppoetunities. Children will be intordued to basic coding concepts through games, robots, and block based coding programs. This day camp build sproblem solving and crativity skills, all while having a blast with ROBOTS! Please bring a sack to this program. Pre-registration is required to participate. Fee of $10 due to the Extension office by July 31.

Tri-County Junior Camp

Joinm us for a "Luau at Camp Aloha" during Tri County Junior Camp! Youth from Hardin, Marshall, Story, Tama, and Grundy counties in grades 4-6th are invited to attend this 3 day, 2 night overnight camp, hosted by the Boone County 4-H program. Youth do not need to be 4-H members to participate! Youth will participate in themed activities + outdoor camp activities, including zip lining, swimming, creek walks, outdoor cooking, and team skill building. Family members are invited to join the group for the Friday Night cook out! 

Registration: Register by July 20, 2024. Registration forms can be found: https://www.extension.iastate.edu/boone/youth-outreach

Cost: 4-H Club Member $225 - County Support = Camper Fee

  • Boone $225 - $113 county support = $112 camper fee
  • Grundy $225 - $0 county support = $225 camper fee

New Event - The Wizarding Express

New Event - The Wizarding Express

Boone, IA - Join us for Sunday, August 25th, 2024 at the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad, 225 10th St. in Boone for a special event called
the “The Wizarding Express.”


Participants will partake in activities, games, photo opportunities, and ride a special excursion train trip out to the beautiful Y camp and food vendors will be present. Some details include a class on “Caring for Magical Creatures,” a Herbology classroom, and many other surprises. 

This event is presented in partnership with The Ericson Public Library, The Y Camp, Boone County Conservation, and the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad.
