Ryan Bjustrom has been hired to serve as new director at Fareway in Spencer following the retirement of Karl Levisay who served in the role for more than 20 years. Longtime Spencer Fareway Meat Department Manager Tim Eagan presented Bjustrom with his store keys last week. The new director comes after four years in Eldora, continuing a 23-year career with the store which began as a bagger at age 15. He spent time at locations in eight different store locations leading to his journey to Spencer. He brings with him a wife, Amanda; two teen sons and a dog. “When we were kids, me and my wife would always come up to Okoboji. We had family who lived up there so we were lucky to cut through Spencer quite a bit. … We would stop at the store all the time and we just knew loved the area.” Bjustrom is currently living in Storm Lake with family while continuing to house hunt in the Spencer area. “Everything has been great and Spencer has been nice,” Bjustrom said.
