(JOHNSON CITY, TENN.) The Chamber of Commerce, serving Johnson City, Jonesborough and Washington County, has announced the hiring of Caleb Tull as its new Director of Membership & Business Development. Tull will begin his new role on August 1.

As Director, Tull’s primary responsibilities will include meeting with potential, new and existing members to provide business assistance in addition to developing programming to enhance membership recruitment and retention through campaigns and events. He will also oversee the Chamber Ambassadors program.

“I’m very excited to start working with the Chamber community,” said Tull. “Our area has impressive and fierce businesses and entrepreneurs, and I am excited to work with them and help them succeed in making the strongest business impact.”

Tull has spent the last decade working in East Tennessee State University’s National Alumni Association. After getting a degree in communications and an MBA from the University, Tull went on to work in the Alumni office, first as the Coordinator of Alumni Outreach then as the Assistant Director of Alumni Membership & Outreach. During his time with ETSU, Tull facilitated alumni relations and donor engagement, while also overseeing certain student and alumni groups and initiatives. He is bringing a wealth of experience in fundraising, program management and relationship building.

Tull is already planning his visions and focus areas for the organization and looks forward to meeting and working with Chamber members as soon as possible.

“For me, the greatest goal is collaboration. I’ve heard the Chamber say it before, and I think it’s true. Competition starts at the bottom; collaboration starts at the top. I plan on identifying new ways that foster collaboration among our members and among our Chamber partners and supporters.”

In addition to his membership duties, Tull will also help facilitate the bi-annual CO.STARTERS entrepreneur course, monthly marketing and Artificial Intelligence workshops and other business development programs that propel businesses forward in their capacity for success.

“We are thrilled to have Caleb come on board our team here at the Chamber,” said Chamber President/CEO Bob Cantler. “Caleb knows our business community and they know him. His experience with recruiting donors and partners, as well as his hardworking spirit and drive, is going to help fuel our members’ success and economic opportunity in the community.”
