April 15, 2022- Making A Difference of Lebanon, PA announced the first recipients of what is expected to be an annual scholarship award program for eligible high school seniors in Lebanon County. The scholarship is available to all graduating seniors who intend to pursue post secondary education at universities, colleges, trade or technical schools.
Applicants were scored on a variety of criteria including school and community involvement and a short essay. Cornell Wilson, president of Making A Difference Of Lebanon PA said “we were amazed by how many qualified applicants there were since it’s the first year we’re offering the scholarships. The decision was a very difficult one to make”.
Making A Difference of Lebanon PA plans to increase educational programs in the community and has recently added an education chair to the organization’s infrastructure. Wilson expressed gratitude to all of the applicants and said, “we are very proud of them and we wish them the best of luck as they continue their educations. I know they will all do great things”. He also extended a special thanks to the scholarship committee and high school guidance counselors “without them”, he said, “this wouldn’t be possible”.
Congratulations to the 2022 scholarship winners:
