SARCC's President/CEO Announces Retirement after 29 Years

After 29 excellent years Jenny Murphy-Shifflet is retiring as the PReisdent/CEO of SARCC. Over the past 29 years Jenny has dedicated a huge amount of time and effort into the SARCC offices of Lebanon and Schuylkill County. Jenny brought both offices to great new heights, she will be missed greatly for her hard work and the wonderful person that she is.
After 29 years of leadership, Jenny Murphy-Shifflet is preparing to step down in 2017 from her position as President/CEO of the Sexual Assault Resource and Counseling Center of Lebanon and Schuylkill Counties (SARCC).
The Board of Directors is grateful for the leadership and direction provided by Murphy-Shifflet for almost three decades. Anthony Miller, President of the Board of Directors said, "Jenny's passion for our vision and mission will be felt for decades. Her legacy will be carried on through the thousands of men, women, and children who wought SARCC services."
Under Jenny's leadership, SARCC evloved from a small nonprofit organization to a leader in service agencies that has been rewarded at the state and federal level for the quality and quantity of care given to victims of sexual violence. She has overseen numerous collaborations that expanded services to victims in legal and medical systems; federal, state, and county prisons; drug and alcohol programs; elementary, middle and high schools; colleges and social service organizations. She developed a strong fundraising base with her board of directors that continue to grow.
In 2003, SARCC partnered with Lebanon Family HEalth Service in a $1.5 million capital campaign that built the Jeanne Donleavy Arnold building on Cumberland Street in Lebanon.
In 2009, she geographically expanded SARCC's services into Schuylkill County by rebuilding a struggling sexual assault program. SARCC Schuylkill has served approximately 5,000 men, women, and children since it opened in July of 2009.
In 2014, she was the driving force of the development of the Lebanon satellite office of the Children's Resource Center. This collaborative project brought together the District Attorney's Office, Children and Youth Services, Pinnacle Health Services, and Wellspan Good Samaritan hospital who embraced this concept.
"Jenny has been instrumental in the development of a talanted staff, who provided the highest level of support, advocacy, education, and therapy to victims and their families 24/7," stated Christine Verdier, Search Committee Chair and Vice PResident of the Board of Directors.
SARCC's Board of Directors thanks Jenny for her many years of service and accomplishments. Her role and impact has been outstanding. The Board is appreciative of Jenny's willingness to support and assist in the transition for the search, selection, and hiring of a new CEO/President.
