Could You Win the Golden Ticket? Give Blood, Get a Chance to Win a $250 Visa Gift Card!

For Immediate Release - Who will get the Golden Ticket and win a $250 Visa gift card, just in time for the holidays?  Oklahoma Blood Institute has a sweet Thanksgiving deal!

Oklahoma Blood Institute invites blood donors to visit “Obie the Blood Drop” and “The Chocolate Factory” at the Lawton donor center, 211 SW A Avenue, on Tuesday, November 25 and Wednesday, November 26, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Donors will receive a free, long-sleeved holiday-themed t-shirt, an 8-inch pie, and a candy bar.  One candy bar will contain a golden ticket good for the $250 Visa Gift Card!

Maintaining the blood supply is particularly challenging during the busy holiday season, so donors are urged to take an hour out of their day before Thanksgiving to save up to three lives.

Every two seconds, someone needs blood, and the supply must be constantly renewed.  If donors opt not to take the t-shirt, Oklahoma Blood Institute will make a monetary donation to Global Blood Fund for blood center assistance in developing countries.

As a non-profit blood center, Oklahoma Blood Institute’s donors provide every drop of blood needed for patients in more than 165 hospitals statewide.  

It takes nearly 1,200 donors a day to meet those needs. Appointments to give blood are not required but can be made by calling Oklahoma Blood Institute at 877-340-8777 or visiting obi.org.

*16-year-olds must weigh at least 125 pounds and provide signed parental permission; 17-year-olds must weigh at least 125 pounds; 18+ year olds must weigh at least 110 pounds.
