The Duncan Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce it has
named Rita Livingston as its new Director of Development and Engagement. She
will be responsible for marketing and communications, event management, digital
media, and program fundraising for the Duncan Chamber.
“I am incredibly excited to join the Duncan Chamber, and
look forward to working with our members, volunteers, committee members, and
Board of Directors,” said Livingston. “I am interested in learning how the
Chamber can better serve our members through targeted events and resources that
will help them grow their businesses and connect with other Chamber members.”
Livingston comes to the Duncan Chamber with a vast knowledge
of marketing, advertising, public relations, and media communications. Until
recently, Livingston worked as the Public Information Officer at Red River
Technology Center for 16 and a half years. While at RRTC, she managed marketing
and advertising; wrote and disseminated press releases and photos celebrating
the students and staff and their achievements; designed and created digital and
print media (catalogs, brochures, and ads); developed and managed the school’s
social media platforms; served on the National Technical Honor Society
committee; and was part of the team that developed and implemented the Employability
Skills Program for students.
Before joining RRTC, Livingston worked at the Duncan Banner
and First National Bank in Marlow. Most recently, she was a stay-at-home mom,
while also substituting at Duncan Middle School and Duncan High School and
running an Etsy shop.
Livingston enjoys attending her children’s activities and
can most often be found cheering on the Duncan Demon Tennis team, serving as a
moderator for academic team meets, and attending band performances and class
parties.
“Duncan is such an incredible community! I look forward to
meeting many new people and being a small part of helping our businesses grow
and thrive,” Livingston added.
Kelly Arnold, President and CEO of the Duncan Chamber, said
Livingston fits the new culture of the Chamber, and she anticipates Livingston
strengthening the Chamber’s ability to better serve its members and the
community.
“I am excited about what Rita will bring to the table
regarding her expertise in marketing and creativity,” Arnold said. “The Board,
our Chamber members and I are looking forward to working together to bring the
Duncan Chamber to the next level.”
Livingston graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a
bachelor's degree in journalism and an emphasis in Public Relations. She is
originally from Rush Springs and has lived in Duncan for 14 years. She is
married to Michael Livingston, and they have two children: Trent, 15, a
freshman at Duncan High School; and Danica, 10, a fourth grader at Horace Mann
Elementary.
