The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) hosted a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Lean On Me Caregiving on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. at 1277 South Governors Avenue in Dover. Chamber members, friends and clients joined director Laura Garofoli and her amazing team to celebrate the 4th Anniversary of their business and their First Annual Fall Festival with a ribbon cutting.
Lean On Me Caregiving is committed to providing home care services that enhance the wellness, dignity and wholeness of those they serve. Their director uses her experience and knowledge as an RN to individualize every client’s service plan and carefully match each with a trained caregiver. The services they offer include but are not limited to: personal care & hygiene, companionship & socialization, homemaking & organization, meal planning & preparation, restorative & respite care, transitional care after hospitalization, medication reminders, nutrition & hydration assistance, mental stimulation & wellness routine assistance, and pet & plant care.
They are proud to have recently been nominated for the Small Business of the Year award and to have won the Best Home Health Care award, as voted by the local community. Their success is also highlighted by winning the EDGE Grant, which allowed them to expand their skills lab-a key part of how they go above and beyond to train their caregiving heroes.
“Community” is what Lean On Me Caregiving is all about. Garofoli speaks passionately about this commitment, “Our company is deeply committed to our community, regularly participating in and donating to events such as the Veterans Stand Down, the CDCC 55 Plus Expo, and the Thrive event in Dover.” She regularly talks at support group meetings, sits on several community boards, is a DAFB Honorary Commander, and a graduate of Leadership Central Delaware. They are dedicated to supporting other small businesses and stay involved in legislation, having spent numerous days at Legislative Hall advocating for Delaware’s caregivers.
Their First Annual Fall Festival was held after the ribbon cutting, and Garofoli describes this new festival as “an exciting way to give back to the community that continues to support our small business!” It featured a tour through their festively decorated office including a family-friendly spooky hallway with haunted rooms, food, treat bags, arts and crafts, and other fun activities.
