CEHMM is seeking a full-time Conservation Project Manager to
direct, coordinate, implement, and execute our Conservation division in
Carlsbad, NM. This position involves oversight of range assessments in lesser
prairie chicken and dunes sagebrush lizard habitat for the evaluation of
grazing systems and range conditions. In addition, the preferred candidate will
provide oversight and at times conduct surveys for the lesser prairie chicken and
pitfall trapping for the dunes sagebrush lizard. Responsibilities include
tracking project deliverables; preparing estimates for reseeding; providing
oversight for all candidate conservation agreements; preparing and organizing
work schedules and procedures; record keeping and report writing, maintaining
good working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including
supervisors, co-workers, private landowners, and industry representatives; and
other duties as assigned. Experience and proficiency in the disciplines of
plant taxonomy and range management in southeastern New Mexico are
prerequisites. The ability to communicate effectively with landowners is
required.
The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $133,000 annually depending on experience.
