Job Overview:

We seek a dynamic and creative individual for the exciting new role of Social Media and Communications Coordinator. This individual will be responsible for developing,  implementing, and managing recovery-focused social media campaigns that align with the agency’s mission and goals.      

Responsibilities:

  • Create, curate, and schedule content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube).
  • Monitor social media channels, respond to inquiries, and engage with the online community to foster a supportive and positive environment.
  • Design and develop flyers, posters, handouts, and other marketing materials to promote the recovery center’s events, programs, and initiatives.
  • Create and distribute monthly e-news updates using Constant Contact.
  • Manage contact and volunteer lists to ensure accurate and up-to-date information for outreach and engagement purposes.
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop promotional strategies for events, workshops, and support groups.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

    The Sussex County Community Peer Recovery Center, a Center for Prevention & Counseling program, is a cornerstone of our service offerings. It is a vibrant and welcoming space where people in recovery, their friends, families, volunteers, and recovery allies can access various supportive resources. The community center hosts various activities to foster community and belonging, including recovery-focused meetings, recovery coaching sessions, social activities, and sober events.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field is required. Two years’ relevant work experience without a degree may also be considered.
  • NJ-CPRS, NCPRSS or other recovery support certifications or willingness to obtain.
  • Proficient designing with Canva, experience with Adobe Suite is a plus.
  • Experience in creating and managing email communications and newsletters using Constant Contact or other email marketing platforms.
  • Experience with social media management platforms.
  • Detail orientated, strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and independent mode of transportation.
  • Ability to be sensitive, flexible, and responsive to gender, race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, religion, and age. Sexual orientation or any special needs as reflected in the ability to communicate with cultural competence toward staff and/or recovery community participants.

Work Schedule:

This position is full-time, in person, 40 hours per week, with some evenings and weekends required.
