Main Street’s Director coordinates its work program and is responsible to its Board of Directors.
The Director implements and integrates Board policies, providing leadership and continuity in long-term planning and goal setting.
They organize structures and procedures, manage income and expenditures, and solicit and manage volunteers appropriately. They will work closely with The Board of Directors’ Executive Board and report directly to the Board President. They will also work closely with the organization’s Promotions Committee to maintain existing events and create new, exciting ones.
The Director maintains a cooperative business relationship with other high-profile community organizations, such as the McPherson Chamber of Commerce, the McPherson Convention & Visitors Bureau, the McPherson Industrial Development Co., and the City leadership.
Our members expect their next Director to be an active and enthusiastic resident of McPherson or McPherson County. They enjoy seeing the Director visit them at their place of work.
The Director will prepare and manage the annual budget and assist with preparing reports to funding agencies. The incumbent will also professionally represent the community to important constituents at the local, state, and national levels. Professional presentation and communication are key. Candidates who have successful experience writing grants will be given special consideration. Experience and comfort with social media are required.
