NOTICE TO ALL APPLICANTS: This opening is available to all City employees and the general public.

SALARY RANGE: $17.00 per hour. Does not include benefits.

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Milford Public Library is looking for a new passport acceptance agent at our facility in the library. MPL is a CT Passport Acceptance Facility, designated by the State Department to accept and pre-process passport applications. Agents are responsible for the review and intake of documents, forms, and identification related to completing passport applications.

Successful applicants will have outstanding customer service, exemplary attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure. Applicants must also have excellent organizational skills, sound judgement and decision-making skills, and be a self-starter with a strong work ethic

Once hired, continued employment is contingent upon passing the "Federal Passport Acceptance Agent Training" through the U.S. Department of State.

Requirements

In addition to the requirements listed above, applicants for this position must also meet the requirements outlined by the State Department:

= Be at least 18 years of age

= Be a U.S. citizen or U.S. National

Must not be on parole or probation related to any state, federal, or local felony or misdemeanor related to breach of trust or moral turpitude (i.e. embezzlement, document fraud, drug offense, or dishonesty carrying out a responsibility of the public trust)
Must not be presently under indictment for any federal, state, or local felony or misdemeanor related to breach of trust or moral turpitude
Be free of any federal, state, or local felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions related to breach of trust or moral turpitude.

This is a part-time position: Hours are Saturday 10am-2pm, Tuesday 4pm-8pm, and Thursday 10am-2pm, on a three-week rotating basis (one week on, two weeks off).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent and at least one-year of complex administrative work required.
