Theatre Off The Square announces
auditions for "The Book of Everything", adapted by Richard Tulloch
from the novel by Guus Kuijer, produced by special
arrangement with Plays for Young Audiences, and directed by Jaclyn Justice, with
Brad Justice as Assistant Director.
Auditions will take place February 26-27,
7:00 pm, at Theatre Off The Square, 114 N. Denton St., Weatherford (www.theatreoffthesquare.org). This is an open audition – no appointments are required. Please prepare a 1-minute monologue in the style of your choice. Head shots and resumes will be accepted but are not required. Callbacks will be held on February 28, 7:00 pm, at the same location and will consist of cold reading from the script.
Rehearsals are scheduled to begin March 26
and will generally be M-Th 7-10 PM (subject to change) with some Saturday rehearsals/work
days approaching the opening of the show. Performances will be weekends May
4-20. Please come prepared with a list of any conflicts you have between March
26 and May 20.
Nine year-old Thomas can see things no one else can: tropical fish thriving in the Amsterdam canals, trumpeting sparrows and even a hailstorm of frogs. He also sees the unhappiness of his family, the violence in his father, and the pain that lingers long after the war is over. All this – good and bad – he carefully records in his magical and hopeful Book of Everything.
All roles are available to all
ethnicities. The characters Thomas, Margot, and Eliza are children, but are
intended to be played by older teen/adult actors.

Mother – Female, age 35+
Father/Bumbiter – Male, age 35+
