Tools for Parenting are lessons that will help you to become a better parents, grandparents, or caregivers. The classes are free. The classes will cover the following topics. Child Growth and Development and Age Appropriate Activities, Communication, Disciplines, Dealing with Anger, Child Health and Food Safety, Growing Healthy, Happy Children with MyPlate, and Shopping Strategies to Stretch your Food Dollars.

This week’s theme: Unusual Animals

Food Handlers Food Safety Class will be held on Thursday February 23, 2017. The class will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and will be held at the Parker County Agricultural Service Center in Weatherford. The cost to attend the class is $20.00.

                The Texas Department of State Health Services accredited food handlers program is a state requirement for all food service employees to help promote the service of safe food. This class is a basic overview of food safety practices that are necessary to ensure you serve safe food at your establishments. 

This week’s theme: Unusual Animals

After completing the class couples will receive a certificate that can be taken to the county clerk to save $60 on a marriage license. Couples will not have to wait 72 hours to be married. The waiting period is waived for couples who complete the course.

The class is focuses on helping couples develop communication and conflict resolution skills and other tools for building strong relationships.

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will offer a two day Certified and Re-Certification Food Manager Course and Exam on Monday and Tuesday, February 27 and 28, 2017. The class will begin at 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday  and 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Tuesday. The ServSafe Certified Food Manager Exam will be administered on Tuesday, February 28.  The class will be held at the Parker County Agricultural Service Center located at 604 North Main Street in Weatherford. The cost for the course is $125.00. This includes the course, ServSafe Certified Food Managers examination, course book and all course materials.
