ArtScope 2017 and ArtScope STUDIO camps will soon
be here and you are invited to register NOW to ensure your place in this FUN fine
arts experience!
ArtScope, an activity of the Chickasha Area Arts Council (CAAC), is a two-week, summer arts day camp for children, ages 8 to 12. It is held on the campus of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO), Chickasha.
ALSO … A NEW offering this summer is ArtScope STUDIO, designed specifically for 13-18 year old students. Participants will be involved in an in-depth three-hour Visual Arts study from 9 am to 12 noon on Monday through Friday, June 5-16, 2017. Carrie Chavers, local artist, teacher and veteran ArtScope visual arts instructor will facilitate this new class.
Students, who have ‘aged out’ of ArtScope as well
as those who have never attended ArtScope but want to participate in a Visual
Arts camp, are invited to register soon for ‘ArtScope STUDIO. At least 10 students are needed to have this special
class.
Both ‘Super Heroes’ ArtScope Day Camp and ArtScope
STUDIO begin Monday, June 5 and end Friday, June 16, 2017 following the entertaining
and impressive afternoon SHOWCASE presentation in USAO’s Te Ata Auditorium.
ArtScope enrollment is limited
to 80 students, ages 8 to 12, for the all-day program which begins at 9 am and
ends at 4 pm.
ArtScope campers will study ‘The Arts’ through
drawing, painting, sculpting, theatre, dance, and music experiences, as well as
learn from a special presentation by a guest artist.
The instructors for ArtScope 2017 have extensive
experience as both teaching and performing artists. The
highly qualified staff of ‘Super Heroes’ ArtScope include: Dance - Emily Hector Godwin, Music - Crystal
Wyatt, Theatre - Robert Story, Visual Arts - Amber Heilman and Allison Ledford.
Emily Hector Godwin and
Jeanie Lee are the Co-Directors of ArtScope day camp and ArtScope STUDIO.
ArtScope and ArtScope STUDIO students are encouraged to apply before Monday, May 15, to avoid a $20 late fee.
The total fee for ArtScope STUDIO is $100, which includes the $25 non-refundable deposit, is required with all registration.
The total fee for ArtScope is $195, which includes the $25 non-refundable deposit, is required with all registrations.
Student scholarships for ArtScope may be available
for those who are eligible and who agree to attend camp every day. There are no scholarships available for
ArtScope STUDIO.
Other ArtScope scholarships
may be available for students who might have difficulty attending the day camp
without some financial assistance.
The ArtScope scholarship application must be
postmarked by Monday, May 1, 2017. If
funds are available, all remaining scholarships will be filled on a first-come,
first-serve basis after the deadline of May 1.
