Civil War ‘School of the Soldier’

Come learn what it was like to be a soldier in the Civil War. Open to boys and girls ages  10 to 14. Participants will be mustered in drill and then reenact a skirmish* for their families and other Museum guests among other fabulous activities.

Pre-registration is required by April 14

$25 fee includes lunch and a commemorative t-shirt

*please note no real weapons will be used

Civil War 'Living History Reenactment'

This year's annual spring encampment depicts the Seven Days Campaign illustrating six major battles between the Army of Northern Virginia and the Union Army of the Potomac that took place over seven days in Richmond, Virginia in 1862. The battle of Fair Oaks, the featured battle on Saturday, set the Seven Days Campaign in motion. Other activities include a Civil War hospital, daily life in camps and a Ladies' Social on Saturday. Food is available for purchase at the event.
$10 per family, $5 per adult, $4 per senior (60 & over)

Clear Drinking Water Week Kickoff: Water Testing day!

Clean Drinking Water Week is May 7th-13th. We want to kick it off at our new location on Saturday, May 6th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join us for free water testing, food, frozen yogurt, games and giveaways!

Alongside us, Outlaw BBQ Smokehouse and SweetFrog of Westminster will be in attendance. Outlaw BBQ will be providing food for the event. Sweetfrog will be providing frozen yogurt as well as some carnival games to earn other great prizes & coupons! (Plinko and bean bag toss) Visit their pages below!

ART IN THE VINEYARDS

ART IN THE VINEYARDS

The Galloping Goose Vineyards and the Carroll County Artist’s Guild will hold Art in the Vineyards The event will include artists from the Guild who will be painting on site and artworks from the Guild on display and for sale. The Vineyard will have wine tastings from an extensive cellar of wines produced from their own grapes. Please bring your lunch and picnic while you are there.

The Carroll County Artists Guild is a non-profit arts organization of local artists for individuals interested in art. It was first organized in 1977 and is dedicated to supporting member’s efforts, creating educational and social events, providing opportunities for exhibitions and sales and helping publicize the works of members. The Guild is an alliance member of the Carroll County Arts Council.  

 

Galloping Goose Vineyards has been a family owned and operated vineyard in Hampstead, Maryland for over forty years. They grow Cabernet Savingnon, Barbera, Petite Verdot and Chambourcin and other notable varieties of grapes and produce an outstanding selection of fine wines. The Vineyard includes a tasting room, a salon and outdoor pavilions. There are also acres of walking trails through beautiful meadows, so bring your camera.
