Melissa Mitchell

Melissa Mitchell joined HealthLinc in 2008 and has been instrumental in the growth of the organization and its impact on health care in the region. She has held multiple positions, including Managed Care Specialist, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer before becoming the Chief Executive Officer in 2024.

In 2014, she graduated from the Johnson & Johnson Health Care Executive Program at UCLA. She currently serves as Chair for the (NACHC) National Association of Community Health Centers and Intergy user group.

A native of Indiana and graduate of Ball State University with a BS in communications, Melissa lives in Knox with her husband and three children. She is active in the community as a member of Victory Christian Church in Knox and on the Ivy Tech South Bend campus IT Advisory Committee.

Melissa has worked to make HealthLinc a nationally respected and often-modeled community health center that makes a difference in the quality of life for so many living in northern Indiana.

Scott Mundell is the Administrative Director of Business Development for Franciscan Health’s Northern Indiana Division, that includes Franciscan Hospitals in Crown Point, Dyer, Michigan City and Munster. He joined Franciscan in December 1995, after working for other hospital systems for 7 years. Scott has a BS in accounting and an MBA from Indiana University, and an MHA from St. Francis University. He is married, and has two daughters, a stepdaughter and stepson. When he is not working, he volunteers for Rebuilding Together Duneland, Chesterton Wrestling Club and Chesterton High School wrestling team.  He also serves or served on numerous boards, including the Duneland Chamber of Commerce, Michigan City Chamber of Commerce, Duneland Family YMCA and IU Northwest School of Business and Economics Advisory Board. When Scott is not busy with his family and community, he enjoys watching and attending sporting events, and traveling.

Nicholas Neal is vice president of community services at Geminus Corporation, a member of Regional Care Group. Neal presides over Community Partners for Child Safety along with programs such as the Real Fathers Initiative, Abuse Intervention Management, Circle Around Families, Family Preservation Services and the Truancy Prevention program. He also directs community outreach programming for Regional Care Group.

In partnership with Indiana Department of Child Services, Neal has expanded services though Community Partners for Child Safety, Regions 1 and 2-covering Lake, Porter, La Porte, Benton, Jasper, Newton, Pulaski and Starke Counties. The Real Fathers Initiative, successfully established by Neal, has served over 2,000 fathers since its inception in 2009. With Neal’s perseverance, the Abuse Intervention Management program in Lake County became the first state-certified batterer’s program in Indiana.

Before joining Geminus in 2009, Nicholas Neal served as a police officer and supervisor for a therapeutic foster care agency. Currently, he also serves as an adjunct professor in criminal justice. Neal received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Indiana University in 2003 and his dual master’s degree in public and law enforcement administration from Calumet College at St. Joseph in 2005.
