Steve started his career in the disability supports field in April of 1996. As a group home manager in Indianapolis with a company called REM (now Mentor). He moved to La Porte when accepted a job with Dungarvin in March of 1998, starting as a Program Director/QDDP. Then being promoted to Area Director, Director of Development, and Senior Director. He supervised residential services to individuals in supported living sites through the waiver and individuals living in ICFs. Dungarvin was one of three agencies that provided services to individuals in Exceptional Support Need ICFs, commonly called ESNs. He developed a nursing department and behavior management program, working for Dungarvin for nearly 23 years. He is involved with INARF and currently sits on the Membership Development Committee. Steve has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and graduated from Indiana University Purdue University in Indianapolis.

Tony has the most fun job at The Lodge as the excursion’s concierge. Guests wishing for an experience on the preserve such as chartered boat cruise, guided fishing, or a waterfowl hunt will get to meet Captain Tony. With over 35 years as a U.S. Coast Guard Captain, tony is the guy to know if you want to catch fish. Tony has years of experience guiding upland bird hunts, chartering on lake Michigan, and waterfowl hunts.

Having spent summers in the area his whole life, Dan moved to Michigan City full time in 2016.  Dan’s past work experiences include being a Mortgage Loan Officer with Bank of England Mortgage, a Credit Analyst with Horizon Bank, a video coordinator with the Providence College Women’s Basketball team, and a year working in Walt Disney World as part of the Disney College Program.

Dan is a graduate of Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Illinois and attended Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island where he received a bachelor’s degree in Global Studies and later his master’s in business administration.  Dan is a graduate of Leadership La Porte County and also serves as a member of the organization’s Board of Directors

When outside of the office, Dan spends most of his time outdoors either on the beach, on the golf course, or exploring new areas with friends and family.

Rebecca Hurni

Rebecca joined HealthLinc in January 2014, as the call center manager before transitioning to support manager and later assistant site operations director. In 2021, she was promoted to site operations director for the Michigan City clinic.

 

Rebecca is a servant leader and understands the challenges facing healthcare workers. She provides her staff with the support they need to care for their patients. Rebecca is also a fierce advocate for patient’s rights and works diligently to increase access to health care for those in the Michigan City community.

 

In her free time, she serves at a local food pantry, is very active in her church, and volunteers both time and resources to other community organizations.  In 2019, Rebecca was given the HealthLinc Hero award for her work in the community.

 

Rebecca graduated from Southern New Hampshire University where she majored in healthcare administration. She lives in Portage with her husband. They have five children and one grandchild, with another on the way.
