DDS developed the Summer Stars Day Camp to help children of all abilities explore new talents while developing social and recreational skills in a safe non-threatening environment. The Summer Stars Day Camp is a general day camp and is not designed as a therapeutic program. The camp is for school age youth with a direct focus on serving youth with special needs. To accommodate these needs, DDS contracts a nurse and provides specialized transportation for day trips. DDS is committed to providing integrated programs for children of all abilities and welcomes all youth to enroll in the camp. While DDS does its best to accommodate the vast needs of campers, there may be some needs we are not be able to fulfill. Information and applications are available on our website at ddslebanon.org, or stop by the DDS-Alley Learning Center on 12th and Walnut Streets, Lebanon, PA Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
DDS is currently recruiting volunteer Buddies to assist campers and to ensure that everyone has a great camp experience. If interested call DDS at 274-3493 to request a Buddy Packet or download an application on our website, www.ddslebanon.org . This is a great assignment for students looking to complete a graduation project, or job shadowing for students looking to go into the teaching or human service fields.
