Did you know…that the Lebanon Country Club was originally founded in 1920? The Club is nearing its 100th anniversary celebration, and planning is already underway for this momentous milestone. Before the Country Club was made into a golf course, it was a farm. Dating back to 1937, the current Clubhouse was a barn, the Pro Shop was a farmhouse, and the golf practice facility and driving range were a riding ring for horseback riding.
While much of the golf course maintains its original design, it has seen a number of renovations over the years. Within the past year, the Country Club has also undergone a number of changes to revamp its image and presence in the community. The new clubhouse manager, Jeffrey Mayer, and the new executive chef, Steven Painter, have had a lot to do with these enhancements. Mayer joined the Country Club team in September of 2015, and Painter was employed in December of 2014. The ultimate goal of these Club improvements is to change the dynamic of the Club and to grow its membership even more.
Did you know…that the Lebanon Country Club currently has almost 400 members? Membership packages range from social memberships to golf memberships as well as memberships for both singles and families.
Individuals participating in the social membership package can play golf up to four times per year with payment of greens fees, and they may host guests to play with them as well. Social members are also invited to attend the Country Club’s “Fun & Frolic” Friday events. Cost for social membership ranges from $174 per month for a family membership to $98 per month for a senior single membership.
The golf membership package features 12 months of unlimited golf with the option to take advantage of the reciprocity programs to play at other clubs. Golf members can also host guests to play with them or play in their absence. Cost for golf membership ranges from $425 per month for a family package (golfers age 41+) to a junior single package (age 21-30) at $125 per month.
Non-resident individuals, individuals who live 50 or more miles away from the Lebanon Country Club, are also invited to become members of the Club. Non-resident members receive the benefit of playing golf at certain times designated by the club professional.
All of the above membership packages also have their own monthly assessment fees and food minimums. There is likewise a one-time initiation fee which is paid upon application. For a limited time only, the Lebanon Country Club is offering a 50 percent discounted initiation fee to encourage new members to join. Another incentive which the Country Club offers is its “Be a Member For a Day” program. Individuals can visit the Country Club for a day at no cost and enjoy its golf, pool, or tennis facilities. The day is tailored to the individuals’ interests, and can be set up by calling the Club.
Did you know…that the Country Club provides a variety of amenities to its members, including dining facilities, tennis and pool activities, and an eco-friendly, professional USGA golf course which is also a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary for preserving local wildlife habitat and protecting natural resources? Both golf lessons, provided by Head Golf Professional Nolan Peterson, and tennis lessons, provided by Tennis Professional Mike Rohrbach, are likewise available. The Club serves as a staple in the local community, providing personalized service and family-friendly activities.
Members are encouraged to make the Club “their Country Club” by becoming as involved as they wish through joining various committees and taking part in a number of membership events. The Country Club strives to host four main events per year for its members. The last Friday in April they will hold their “Spring Fling” event to showcase their summer activities.
Two big golf events held every year include the W.B. Sullivan Invitational and the Senior’s Invitational. The Sullivan Invitational is entering its 71st year and will be held July 28-31. Originally started by W.B. Sullivan as a company golf outing, it is now one of the biggest amateur tournaments in the area, drawing teams from all over the state and even from Florida and Texas. The Senior’s Invitational, also entering its 71st year, is designed for golfers 50 years and older and will be held on May 23.
