Free Church Building Workshops Help a Building Project Get Started on Solid Footing
How to evaluate construction needs. How to approach a design. How to determine if you can afford it! Building do’s and don’ts for pastors, church leaders, and committees will be explored in four free workshops slated throughout the month of October. The Free “Church Building Workshops”, each start at 6:00 p.m., will be presented by industry professionals in fundraising, architectural, contractors, and interior designers at separate locations in central Pennsylvania.
According to C. Eugene Musser of Kirby-Smith Associates, speaking on behalf of partner companies, Arthur Funk and Sons, Inc, Construction Services, Cornerstone-Design Architects, and Miller Church Interiors Inc., the workshop will focus on a wide range of topics such as visioning, master planning, efficient use of space, dealing with growth or lack thereof, trouble-shooting, building consensus, and fundraising.
“Are you considering a new building or renovating an existing one? Do you know where to begin? Our Church Building Workshop is designed to help get your building project started on solid footing,” said Musser. “This workshop will help you understand the differences in design approaches and different construction methods for your project. You will learn how to analyze your financial strengths, determine how much you can afford to spend, and how to use a stewardship approach to raising the necessary funds.”
Musser noted that church teams all have the same thoughts prior to beginning any construction project: “We have outgrown our building, now what?” Or, “Do we have enough land to build?” Or, “Is this the right time to proceed?”
“This conference is not your average church conference because we are equipping church leaders with valuable information and resources to make the best decisions about the future of their churches, whether that involves construction or not,” he concluded.
